Co-injection Tooling in China

Co-injection molding is used widely in Europe to enable recycling of regrind and reprocessed materials. The process is also becoming better utilized in the U.S. because co-injection molding allows molders to use materials internally with different properties and cosmetics than that of the skin.

Additional benefits of co-injection molding include the environmental benefits of using recycled materials (regrind) on the inside while preserving the properties of virgin materials on the skin.

Several questions should be asked prior to launching the co-injection molding process such as:

How much core polymer will be used?
Where will core polymer penetrate?
How thick will the skin polymer be?
Will family molds produce the same core polymer distribution as single cavity molds?
